Brazilian Butt Lift Surgery is a technique for hip shaping using one’s own regional fat. In other words, it is a surgical procedure to shape and improve the size of the buttocks with fat. Also known as the BBL, it is a popular aesthetic surgery for both genders.

The Surgery

Excess fat tissues from the abdomen, waist or legs of the patient are taken by liposuction and then injected into the buttocks area. Thus, the waist area of the person will be thinned and the hip will be more noticable. In cases where the person does not have enough fat tissue, silicone implants are used.(*)

Buttock surgery performed with the BBL is suitable for flat and small hips.

It is a reliable method by injecting the fat obtained from the person’s own tissue into the person’s own body as it will not trigger allergic reaction.

Patients who want to have the Brazilian technique must have sufficient regional fat.

BBL surgery consists of three basic steps:

  1. Fat is removed from the abdomen, waist, legs or back of the person.

  2. These regional fats are separated and made pure.

  3. Fat tissues ready for transfer are injected into the points on buttock determined by the surgeon.

To sum up, fats find the opportunity to live in the area where they are injected into, shape the area and provides more lifted appearance to it. Usually, usage of general anesthesia is preferred for the surgery.
